Between Taksim-Unkapanı & Unkapanı-Yenikapı Metro Project

These projects aim to help resolve İstanbul’s growing traffic congestion between Taksim and Yenikapı. The contracts were awarded by the Municipality of İstanbul to Yüksel-Güriş-Reha-Başyazıcıoğlu Joint Venture in 1998 under the leadership of Yüksel and consists of two sections. The partners of the joint venture established a partnership under the name of “Anadolu Metro Ortaklığı” to implement these contracts.

Taksim Unkapanı Section: This section includes 4,029 metres of bored tunnel and one metro station in Şişhane.

Unkapanı Yenikapı Section: This section includes 6,270 metres of bored tunnel and construction of two metro stations in Yenikapı and Şehzadebaşı. The Yenikapı Station is designed as a station for the LRTS too.
